At a UN Security Council session dedicated to the situation in the Middle East, the Palestinian Ambassador to the UN, Riyad Mansour, emphasized that the peace agreement that came into force on October 10 is not being implemented. This was reported by the Zamon.uz publication.
According to him, the fact that in Gaza every day 1,000 people are killed or injured, every day 2 children die, and thousands of people live in difficult conditions as displaced persons "cannot be justified by anything."
Mansour accused Israel of deliberately restricting the Palestinians' right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." He called on the US administration to actively engage in preventing a ceasefire regime violation.
He emphasized that, despite doubts, the Palestinians have accepted the peace plan of US President Donald Trump, but Israel is trying to break the agreement by resuming attacks, stopping the flow of aid, and deepening the occupation in Gaza.
Mansour also stressed the need to immediately stop the attacks, forced transfers, and land seizures carried out by Israeli soldiers and settler colonists in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
He accused the UN Security Council of indifference to the condition of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. Mansour said that the spread of a video showing abuse of a Palestinian prisoner in Sde Teiman prison has turned into a discussion in Israel "not about the crime itself, but precisely about the leak of the video," with some even seeing the guards as "heroes."
