In his speech at the ceremony for launching energy facilities and projects, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the energy system is undergoing consistent reforms against the backdrop of the growing demands of the economy and the population.

According to the head of state, two main goals have been set in the sector: to provide all regions with reliable and uninterrupted electricity and to implement this process based on modern, environmentally clean, and renewable energy sources.

In recent years, the system has attracted $35 billion in foreign investment, and 9,000 megawatts of new capacity have been commissioned. As a result, electricity production volume increased from 60 billion kWh in 2017 to 85 billion kWh this year.

It was also reported that nearly 5,000 megawatts of solar and wind power plants, and 400 megawatts of hydropower have been commissioned. The share of "green" energy in total generation is expected to reach 30 percent by 2025.
