Mitsubishi delivered a new rotor in a short period due to a malfunction that occurred in the gas turbine of the large station being built by ACWA Power.
After a rotor malfunction was identified in gas turbine No. 2 of the 1500 MW thermal power plant in the Syrdarya region, a new rotor prepared in Japan was brought to Tashkent by a special flight on December 8 within the framework of the warranty obligations of the manufacturer and investor.
The 114-ton structure was delivered directly from the airport to the station site.
Installation processes have begun with the participation of responsible authorities, the investor, and technological partners. The installation and testing-adjustment work of the rotor will last approximately one month. During this period, reserve and newly commissioned units are being engaged to cover the power shortage.
It was announced that against the backdrop of decreased production at solar power plants due to cloudy weather and short daylight hours, short-term restrictions may be observed in some areas during the peak consumption period from 17:00 to 21:00. Consumers will be notified in advance if the need arises.
Once the new rotor is installed, it is expected that the station will return to full capacity and there will be no need for temporary restrictions.
