Students are receiving education at the Uspensky Secondary School in the Odintsovo urban area of the Moscow region. However..... an unexpected event ended the life of 10-year-old Kobil, a Tajik boy. The point is that Timofey, a 15-year-old student in the 9th grade of this school, dressed in a military-style uniform, attempted to attack a person he encountered on his way to the educational institution with a knife. First, the young man used a gas canister against the school security guard and entered the school. Then he began threatening younger students, asking about their nationality.
As a result, he stabbed Kobil, a 4th-grade student of Tajik nationality. The child died from the injuries sustained. The child's mother works as a cleaner at this school. It is known that the deceased child's twin brothers also study at this very school.
In the initial minutes of the attack, Kobil's homeroom teacher tried to protect the students. She shielded the children with her own body, attempting to divert attention and hid the students in the classroom. However, in those moments, Kobil ran towards the stairs. As a result, he remained out of the teacher's attention and became Timofey's victim. Currently, the homeroom teacher is being questioned by investigative authorities. She said she feels guilty for this tragedy. According to witnesses, after the incident, the female teacher left the school building in tears... with trembling hands.
At the same time, Timofey also managed to inflict bodily injuries of varying severity on the security guard and several other students. The necessary medical assistance is currently being provided to the victims. Law enforcement officers, investigators, and criminalists promptly arrived at the scene of the incident. The teenager who carried out the attack is under arrest.
The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under the articles of "intentional homicide" regarding this situation. As part of the investigation, a search was conducted at the suspect's place of residence, and evidence is being examined. For the purpose of ensuring the safety of the school students, an evacuation was carried out, and they were placed in a nearby Youth Center. The Moscow Commissioner for Children's Rights announced that all children and their parents are being provided with psychological and social assistance.
The Governor of the Moscow Region called this event a "terrible tragedy" and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased child. The investigation is ongoing. It was stated that a legal assessment will be given to the actions of all responsible persons.
