At the meeting held on December 19, the Emperor of Japan emphasized that the visit of the President of Uzbekistan is a significant event in further strengthening the friendly and strategic partnership relations between the two countries.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his deep respect to Emperor Naruhito and thanked him for his constant support of the reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan. The sides noted the historical ties, shared mentality, and family values that bring the Uzbek and Japanese peoples closer.

The meeting highlighted the consistent expansion of cooperation in the fields of education, personnel training, and cultural-humanitarian exchanges. To date, over 3,000 Uzbek specialists have undergone internship programs, and more than 440 have received education on a scholarship basis. The Japanese language is taught at seven universities in Uzbekistan.

It was also reported that the Days of Uzbek Culture in Tokyo were successfully held, and it is planned to organize an archaeological exhibition dedicated to the history and culture of Uzbekistan in several cities of Japan next year.

At the end of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Emperor Naruhito to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
