Kyrgyzstan's former president Almazbek Atambayev has been stripped of all state awards. The relevant decree was signed by the country's president Sadyr Japarov on December 29. The document was adopted for the purpose of executing the June 3rd verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.
According to the decree, Atambayev has been deprived of the title "Hero of Kyrgyzstan," the Order of Manas, 2nd class, the Order of Danaker, and the Dank medal. Furthermore, a number of previous presidential decrees on awarding these honors were deemed invalid.
The state awards and related documents are to be confiscated in the prescribed manner and entrusted to the court enforcement service under the Prosecutor General's Office. The decree came into force on the day it was signed.
