According to the State Security Service, an employee of the Bostanlyk district branch of the State Cadastre Department of Tashkent region demanded 5 thousand US dollars from a citizen in exchange for officially registering cadastral documents for a 8 sotix plot of land through acquaintances in high positions.
During an operational measure, the employee was caught red-handed while receiving the money, and material evidence was seized. A criminal case has now been initiated against him under Part 2, clauses "a" and "b" of Article 168 (fraud) as well as Articles 28 and 211 (failure to comply with the lawful demands of the administration of a penal institution) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are ongoing.
