According to the Strategic Focus: Middle East and North Africa report, at least 1,922 people were sentenced to death in Iran during 2025. This figure has nearly doubled compared to 2024. Among them, 10 individuals were executed in public. The report was compiled based on 10,826 verified pieces of information.

According to the data, 87 percent of those sentenced were men, 3 percent were women, and there is no precise information for the remaining 10 percent. Furthermore, two minors were also sentenced to death.

More than half of those executed were convicted for murder, while the remainder were primarily sentenced for crimes related to drug trafficking. Additionally, it was noted that another 168 people were sentenced to death during the year.
