A criminal case has been initiated against judges accused of illegally altering a court verdict in a serious crime committed in the Tungi club area.

A criminal case has been initiated and judges have been arrested in relation to the release from prison of Akmal Shukurov, who was convicted of beating a man and throwing him into a coma in Tashkent. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that charges have been brought under articles for issuing an unjust court verdict and interfering in court cases against former deputy chairman of the Tashkent City Court Murodjon Mirzajonov, and former judges of the city court for criminal cases Odilbek Ilhomjonov, Mirziyod Obidov, and Muhtarama Turgunova.

According to the investigation materials, they illegally changed the verdict of the court of first instance at the appellate instance and released Akmal Shukurov from the courtroom. Subsequently, this decision was annulled on the basis of a protest, and Shukurov was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months of imprisonment.

Preliminary investigative actions in this case are currently being carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office.
