It is known that the person who committed the murder suffered from a cerebral vascular disease in 2020 and was registered at the regional psychoneurological dispensary. Since then, he underwent inpatient treatment there and lived in the same house with his older brother and sister-in-law.
According to court documents, the older brother and his wife had spoken about placing the younger brother in a psychiatric hospital. The defendant A.B., resenting this, decided to kill them.
The horrific incident occurred on October 18, 2025, in the "Cholpon Yuz Yilligi" neighborhood of Andijan city. The younger brother struck his older brother's head with the cutting part of an axe that was in the yard, causing his death. Then, he broke a window pane to kill his sister-in-law who had locked herself inside the house, but the axe handle came off at that moment. After that, the younger brother entered the house with a hammer and struck his sister-in-law's head several times. The woman ran out of the room and called for help from those around. A neighbor woman came to help and managed to take the hammer from A.B.'s hand.
According to the conclusion of the court-ordered psychiatric examination, the defendant A.B. was unable to comprehend the significance of his actions at the time of committing the crime. Furthermore, the conclusion found him incapable of giving correct testimony, being interrogated, or participating in other investigative and judicial actions, and recommended compulsory treatment at the Republic's intensified surveillance psychiatric hospital.
In court, the deceased's son M.B. gave a statement, indicating that he knew his uncle had been suffering from a mental illness since 2006, requested that legal responsibility be assigned to the defendant, and stated he had no claims for material or moral damages.
By the ruling of the Andijan City Court on December 18, the defendant A.B. was found to have committed the crime in a state of insanity, and the preventive measure in the form of detention was canceled. Furthermore, A.B. was ordered to undergo compulsory treatment at the Republic's intensified surveillance psychiatric hospital.
