On January 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined priority tasks for the socio-economic development of the region at a meeting held in Jizzakh region. As the head of state emphasized, it is planned to increase the gross regional product growth by 8.5 percent, bring foreign investment volume to 5 billion dollars, and raise exports to 500 million dollars over the next two years.
The meeting noted the necessity of efficient utilization of lead-zinc, tungsten, gold, and other deposits within the framework of accelerating industrial development. It was also determined that 200 billion soums will be allocated this year to strengthen the infrastructure of "driver" projects.
Furthermore, a number of specific measures for the development of agriculture, tourism, urban planning, and social infrastructure were outlined. The President instructed those responsible to implement each project in close connection with increasing employment and improving the standard of living of the population.
