The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection announced that it will intensify measures to ensure price stability in domestic markets on the eve of the month of Ramadan. Instructions have been sent to major retail chains and trade complexes in the regions to keep the prices of socially important food products under control.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting held on February 13, gave instructions to organize discounted food fairs at farmers' markets and large shopping complexes during Ramadan.

The Committee emphasized the necessity for supplying enterprises to promptly provide information regarding price changes, logistics costs, and other factors. Furthermore, instructions were given to warn suppliers against allowing unreasonable price increases.

It is reported that the committee, within its authority, will take the necessary measures to maintain price stability for socially significant products. According to the decision of the Fatwa Council of the Organization of Turkic States, the month of Ramadan begins on February 19.
