During rapid operations conducted in cooperation between the State Security Service of Uzbekistan and customs authorities, a total of approximately 77 kilograms of narcotic substances were seized in the Syrdarya Region and Surkhandarya Region.

It is reported that in the Khovos district of Syrdarya, two local citizens born in 1983 and 1990 were apprehended while receiving 6 bags that were being smuggled across the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border. Upon inspection of the bags, 8 kg 314 grams of heroin and 54 kg 458 grams of opium were found inside.

Regarding the case, a criminal case has been initiated against them under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and detention as a preventive measure has been applied.

During a rapid operation conducted in the Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya region, a citizen born in 1984, who works as a school teacher, was caught red-handed while selling 14 kg 680 grams of opium for 180 thousand US dollars.

Regarding this case, a criminal case has also been initiated, and detention as a preventive measure has been applied to the suspect. Investigative actions to identify his criminal accomplices are currently ongoing.
