A person who organized an illegal religious education cell in Fergana region has been exposed. This was reported by the Press Service of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs.

It is reported that the rapid response operation was carried out in cooperation with officers of the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies. During the investigation, it was found that 17 children aged from 6 to 14 were being educated in the clandestine cell.

It is noted that the children's parents had been paying this person 100–150 US dollars per month. Fourteen of the students were from the city of Kokand, the rest came from various regions of the republic.

Regarding the situation, documents have been officially filed against the suspect under Article 229-2 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and investigative work is being carried out.
