A criminal case has been initiated against the senior operative of the Pakhtakor district department of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes in Jizzakh region. The State Security Service reported this.

It is reported that the department employee, born in 1989, conspired with a previously convicted acquaintance and gained the trust of the head of a private limited liability company engaged in technical supply. They promised to ensure victory in an electronic tender for the purchase of interactive whiteboards for the preschool and school education department of Jizzakh city.

In exchange, they demanded 85 million soums from the entrepreneur. According to investigation data, the plan was actually to sell interactive whiteboards worth 15.2 million soums to a state institution for 25 million soums.

During an urgent operation conducted jointly by SSS and prosecutor's office employees, the person born in 1989 was first caught red-handed while receiving the 85 million soums. Subsequently, the department employee was caught with material evidence while receiving his 30 million soums share together with the school director.

Regarding the incident, the Jizzakh regional prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case under Article 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and detention as a preventive measure was applied against the suspects. Investigative actions are ongoing.
