Trump's visit to China was scheduled for March 31 – April 2. "We asked to postpone it for about a month," Trump told journalists.
According to White House press secretary Caroline Levitt, the postponement of the meeting is related to Trump's primary duty of overseeing the military operation in Iran. The President is looking forward to the visit to China, but the dates may change.
It is noted that last night Trump called on Beijing to assist Washington on the issue of oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. The American leader had asked China, Great Britain, France, Japan, and South Korea to send warships to patrol this strategic waterway.
