The Operational Search Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with U.S. law enforcement agencies and the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, continues efforts to identify wanted persons and return them to Uzbekistan.
According to the agency, as a result of the next operational measure, a person accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan was apprehended in the United States.
It was reported that a citizen of Uzbekistan, born in 1989, had been on the wanted list since 2023. He was identified and apprehended in New York City, United States of America, and deported to Uzbekistan in accordance with established procedures.
It is noted that the internal affairs bodies are consistently continuing operational search activities within the framework of international cooperation to search for persons who have committed crimes and are hiding from investigation and judicial authorities, and to bring them to justice.
