Guterres: Stopping the carnage in the Middle East depends on the political will of the United States.

In his opinion, Israel's strategy is to eliminate Iran's military capability and change the regime, while Iran's is to resist this and inflict maximum damage.

Guterres emphasized that the key to resolving the crisis lies in the US, and drew attention to the possibility that both sides—the US-Israel and Iran—could commit war crimes.

"It doesn't matter who is striking the civilian population. This is an absolutely unacceptable situation," he said.
