One of the existing restrictions on imported cars in Uzbekistan has been abolished. The Customs Committee announced this.
It was noted that the norm providing for the issuance of a conformity certificate for only one vehicle per calendar year when importing vehicles by individuals and legal entities is no longer applied.
It became known that this change was established in the President's decree "On measures to introduce results-based management in the construction sector and simplify public services in the field."
According to the document, a corresponding amendment was made to the "General technical regulation on the safety of wheeled vehicles being put into circulation," approved by Resolution No. 237 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 25, 2017.
According to this, the norm in the regulation providing for the issuance of a conformity certificate "no more than once per calendar year" has been removed.
Also, the decree introduced a number of benefits in the construction sector. In particular, until July 1, 2029, the import of special equipment used in construction works, as well as laboratory and instrumental inspection equipment, not produced in Uzbekistan, will be exempt from customs duties. The Cabinet of Ministers is set to approve the list of equipment to which this benefit will apply within one month.
