Since the start of the military escalation on March 2, the number of people killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon has reached 3,593, while 10,990 have been injured to varying degrees.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced this on social media.
According to the ministry, over the past 24 hours, 35 people were killed and 120 injured as a result of Israeli air force attacks on the Nabatieh district in the south of the country and the Western Beqaa region on Saturday.
It is noted that despite the announced ceasefire, airstrikes on populated areas continue. Therefore, officials do not rule out that the number of casualties and injured may increase by the end of the day.
The Lebanese government stated that the situation is becoming increasingly difficult to control and that medical services and rescue teams are operating at a high state of readiness. It is also noted that destruction is increasing in the areas, and infrastructure in some populated areas has been seriously damaged.
