A court verdict was issued regarding a traffic accident in the city of Samarkand that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old girl. About this, on the program “Zamon” a report was given.
According to reports, the incident occurred on February 10 of this year in the Temiryo'lchilar neighborhood. The minor girl, while riding a bicycle with her brother, lost control and hit a car parked on the side of the road, then fell onto the roadway.
After that, a truck moving in that direction ran over her. As a result, the girl died at the scene due to the severe bodily injuries she sustained.
According to the court, the 26-year-old driver had previously been held liable for a crime related to violating traffic rules. Furthermore, although truck traffic was prohibited in the area where the incident occurred, he used that road.
The court found the driver guilty of violating traffic safety rules that caused a person's death. He was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment and deprived of the right to drive vehicles for 3 years.
Also, according to the court decision, the defendant was ordered to pay the victim's side 20 million soums in material damages and 120 million soums in moral damages.
