Uzbekistan citizens suspected of fraud and human trafficking crimes, who had been wanted for 6 years, have been apprehended in Turkey and returned to the country. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in a statement.
According to the information, a woman committed a fraud crime in Uzbekistan and had been wanted for 6 years. She was caught in Turkey and brought to Uzbekistan as a result of operational-search activities conducted in cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkey.
It is stated that she operated without a license for placing citizens in jobs abroad, promising them high-paying jobs in the USA and European countries, gained their trust, and fraudulently obtained large sums of money.
In connection with this case, a criminal case has been initiated against her under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code.
Additionally, another person who had committed a crime under Article 135 (human trafficking) and was on the run has also been arrested and returned to Uzbekistan.
According to officials, work continues in cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey to identify and apprehend a number of other wanted individuals.
