An explosion at a liquefied gas filling station for household gas cylinders located in the Karshi district of the Kashkadarya region resulted in the deaths of 6 citizens. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this.
According to reports, information about the incident was received by the regional Emergency Situations Department at 1:50 PM on June 8. Subsequently, 5 rescue units were dispatched to the scene.
Rescuers arrived at the scene at 2:02 PM. The fire was contained at 2:05 PM and fully extinguished at 2:55 PM.
According to preliminary data, the incident caused 4 vehicles — 2 Cobalts and 2 trucks designed for gas transportation, as well as 2 underground fuel storage tanks — to catch fire.
As a result of the explosion and fire, 6 citizens died. Another 5 citizens were hospitalized with various degrees of bodily injuries.
In accordance with Shavkat Mirziyoyev's instruction, a government commission has been established under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov. The commission has been tasked with providing assistance to the victims, eliminating the consequences of the incident, determining the causes of the explosion, and developing measures to prevent such situations.
Currently, the area where the incident occurred is under full control, and work to eliminate the consequences is ongoing.
