The investigation into the murder of Uzbek citizen Nigina Sattorova in Turkey has been completed. The state prosecutor has requested a sentence of life imprisonment with aggravated circumstances for the victim's husband, Umid Sattorov. This was reported by local Turkish publications.
According to reports, for the second suspect, Urinboy Botirbekov, who is suspected of assisting in the commission of the murder, a prison sentence of up to 20 years has been demanded.
Recall that on August 17, 2025, in the Umraniye district of Istanbul, 33-year-old Uzbek citizen Nigina Sattorova was stabbed to death by her husband, Umid Sattorov.
According to investigation materials, Nigina Sattorova, a native of Samarkand region, was engaged in temporary labor activities in Istanbul. The tragedy occurred following a quarrel between the spouses due to jealousy.
After the murder, as a result of search operations launched by the Istanbul police, Umid Sattorov was apprehended in the Umraniye district on August 18, one day after the incident. Additionally, Urinboy Botirbekov, a native of Jizzakh region suspected of helping him hide, was also detained by law enforcement agencies.
Upon completion of the investigative actions, on August 19, 2025, by court decision, a pre-trial detention measure was applied to both suspects.
Currently, preparations are underway to conduct court proceedings in this criminal case.
