US President Donald Trump has issued instructions to carry out new military strikes against targets in Iran. This was announced by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
According to him, American forces will continue to strike targets belonging to Iran throughout the night. Hegseth stated that these operations are being carried out on the orders of President Trump.
"The US will deliver a strong blow to Iran," said the Pentagon chief.
He emphasized that one of the main goals of the military operations is to bring Tehran back to the negotiating table.
Hegseth also noted that Washington aims to limit actions threatening regional security by increasing pressure on Iran.
At the same time, Iranian officials have not yet commented on this statement.
