In several foothill and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan, mudflows and floods may occur on June 13–15. Uzhydromet has issued a warning about this.
According to the report, due to expected rains, the risk of mudflows remains in some districts of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions.
In particular, mudflows and floods may cause a sharp increase in water flow in mountain streams and small rivers, as well as the formation of mudflows on mountain slopes.
In this regard, residents living in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through these areas have been asked to take precautionary measures.
Also, in some areas across the republic, there is a possibility of rainwater accumulation and flooding of low-lying areas as a result of heavy rains.
Authorities are urging the population to monitor weather reports and strictly follow safety rules.
