More than 34 kilograms of narcotics were seized during a rapid operation conducted in the city of Tashkent. This was reported by the State Security Service.
It is noted that a special operation was carried out in cooperation between the State Security Service and internal affairs officers as part of the fight against the illegal circulation of narcotics.
During the rapid operation, a Lacetti-brand car that was suspiciously stopped near the "Kuylyuk" market in the capital was inspected.
It was determined that the vehicle was driven by a person born in 1968, a resident of the Sariosiyo district of the Surkhandarya region, who had previously been convicted. Also in the car was a citizen born in 1984 in the city of Denov, currently residing in Tashkent city.
During the inspection, it was discovered that a plastic container in the car's cabin contained 30 packages totaling 34 kilograms 610 grams of heavy narcotics. Of these, 12 kilograms 960 grams were opium, and 21 kilograms 650 grams were hashish.
These substances were officially documented as material evidence.
According to preliminary information, narcotics of this type were smuggled into the country from abroad.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and a detention measure has been applied.
Within the framework of investigative actions, measures are being taken to identify possible criminal accomplices of the suspects.
