The Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a statement regarding the incident in which four employees died from gas poisoning in a well on the territory of a medical association located in the Marhamat district of the Andijan region. The statement was made.
According to reports, the incident occurred on June 10 this year, around midday, on the territory of the central clinic of the Marhamat district. One of the technical workers descended into the well to adjust the pump motor without observing safety rules. It was noted that such wells can accumulate toxic and harmful gases dangerous to human life.
In an attempt to assist the first worker, three more technical workers also descended into the well, and as a result, all of them were poisoned by the toxic gas and died.
According to the information, as soon as the report of the incident was received, a group of rescuers led by the head of the Marhamat District Emergency Department promptly arrived at the scene.
According to the head of the District Emergency Department, none of the individuals who descended into the well showed signs of life by the time the rescuers arrived. Video footage confirming this situation is also available.
Specialized units of the Andijan Regional Emergency Department, specializing in radiation and chemical protection, were called in to retrieve the bodies from the well.
Additionally, claims on social media that the victims were still alive when the rescuers arrived and that they were not provided assistance have been denied.
The ministry’s statement emphasized that rescuers risk their lives daily to save human lives, and there are numerous examples of this.
