The Central Bank will impose financial fines on commercial banks for violations related to customer service when withdrawing cash through ATMs starting from August 6. Central Bank Chairman Timur Ishmetov announced this at the plenary session of the Senate on June 13 reported.
According to him, in 2025, 341 million operations were carried out through ATMs, with the share of problematic transactions amounting to 0.08 percent.
It is noted that a large part of the malfunctions is not related to the activities of the banks, but rather to the absence of banknotes of the required denomination in the ATM, card blocking, incorrect PIN entry, and interruptions in communication and power supply.
Timur Ishmetov emphasized that the new procedure is aimed at protecting the rights of customers and increasing the responsibility of banks for the quality of service.
Additionally, a rating of banks will be formed based on the efficiency of handling citizen complaints, and banks with the lowest indicators will be publicly announced.
