Today, on April 7, several explosions occurred on Iran's Kharg Island. According to the "Mehr" news agency, the island was attacked several times and the sounds of explosions were heard.
Kharg Island is the main hub for Iran's oil exports, with nearly 90% of the country's exported oil being directed to the world market through this location. This strategically important area is located in the north of the Persian Gulf.
Previously, US President Donald Trump had stated that military targets on the island were struck and did not rule out the possibility of striking oil infrastructure if necessary.
Iran, for its part, has stated that in response to such actions, oil and gas facilities belonging to the US and its allies in the region could be targeted.
