Construction of a large factory specializing in the production of humanoid robots and their components has begun in Tashkent city. The project is being implemented in cooperation with South Korea's Robotis company. The Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade reported.
The ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the enterprise took place at the “Yangi Avlod” industrial zone within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. Officials and the management of Robotis company participated in it.
According to reports, the total cost of the project is $70 million. The factory will be built on an area of 10 hectares, and it is expected to create more than 2,000 new jobs.
It is noted that the new enterprise will serve to establish high-tech production, attract international experience, and train qualified specialists.
Officials assess this project as an important step in developing the field of robotics in Uzbekistan and turning the country into one of the leading technological centers in Central Asia.
