As a result of large-scale inspections conducted in Uzbekistan, the operation of 464 fuel filling stations has been temporarily suspended. This was announced in the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers adopted on June 18.
According to the report, a total of 6,196 liquefied and compressed gas, petroleum product filling stations, as well as gas filling stations and points, were inspected across the republic.
During the inspections, a total of 46,737 violations and deficiencies were identified. It was reported that 2,218 of them were related to construction, 7,949 to fire safety, 25,341 to industrial and technical safety, 3,354 to technical regulation, and 7,875 to technological processes.
Furthermore, 7,166 deficiencies were eliminated on-site during the inspections.
In accordance with the government decision, effective from September 1, 2026, the use of equipment that has expired or whose production date is unknown and that operates under excess pressure will be restricted until January 1, 2030.
In addition, by September 1 of this year, a special register of stations that pose a threat to human life and health and do not meet urban planning, industrial, and fire safety requirements will be formed.
Subsequently, specific measures will be developed for the gradual relocation of objects found to be dangerous to safe areas.
For reference, these inspections were carried out in an enhanced manner following the explosion at a gas filling station in the Karshi district of the Kashkadarya region, which claimed the lives of 6 people.
