President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to Namangan region, familiarized himself with the new passenger terminal under construction at Namangan International Airport.
It was reported that a total of $175 million in investment has been attracted for the project. The new terminal is planned to be put into operation by the end of 2026.
The three-story terminal, with an area of 22,600 square meters, will have a capacity to serve 1,200 passengers per hour and over 3 million passengers per year. This will multiply the airport's current capabilities several times over.
The terminal will house border and customs control points, visa services, a business lounge, retail and catering outlets, a medical station, and a Duty Free area. The project is expected to create 550 new jobs.
Additionally, it is planned to launch a cargo terminal with a daily capacity of 50 tons by the end of 2027. This will make it possible to form a unified modern cargo system in the Fergana Valley and expand the geography of product exports.
