The head of state called the art of maqom an invaluable heritage that unites peoples and promotes goodness and spirituality. It was noted that today's forum is becoming a major cultural platform that enhances the international prestige of maqom art.
The event is attended by about 250 representatives of culture and art from over 80 countries, as well as leaders of prestigious international organizations.
The president put forward a number of initiatives for the development of maqom art. In particular, it was proposed to grant the status of the World Maqom Center to the Maqom Center being built in New Tashkent, and to establish an International Maqom Academy, a digital library, and a laboratory under it.
Also announced were plans to create a World Maqom Anthology, establish an international foundation to support maqom studies, and introduce an International Maqom Award.
At the event, the president also specially acknowledged our national team's participation in the world championship, noting that the footballers had fulfilled the 34-year dream of our people and wished them good luck.
The ceremony continued with a concert program. Thus, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Namangan region concluded.
