Due to expected rains from June 28 to July 3, there may be a risk of mudflows and floods in the foothills and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan. Uzgidromet has warned about this.
According to the report, the risk may be observed in the following areas:
In Kashkadarya region — Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Kamashi and G'uzor districts;
In Surkhandarya region — Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Sho'rchi, Qumqo'rg'on and Muzrabot districts;
In Samarkand region — Urgut, Samarkand, Bulung'ur, Nurobod, Qo'shrabot, Katta qo'rg'on, Payariq, Jomboy and Ishtikhon districts;
In Navoi region — Xatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimekh and Karmana districts;
In Jizzakh region — Zomin, Baxmal, G'allaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish and Yangiobod districts;
In Tashkent region — Ohangaron, Bo'stonliq, Parkent, Piskent, O'rtachirchiq and Yuqorichirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Olmaliq;
In Namangan region — Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan and Yangiqo'rg'on districts;
In Fergana region — So'x, Shohimardon, Fergana and Beshariq districts;
In Andijan region — Andijan, Asaka, Jalolquduq, Qo'rg'ontepa, Paxtaobod, Izboskan, Xo'jaobod and Marhamat districts, as well as the city of Xonobod.
Uzgidromet has called on citizens residing in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers moving in these areas to take precautionary measures.
It was also noted that as a result of heavy precipitation, rainwater may accumulate in some regions of the republic, and there is a possibility of flooding in low-lying areas.
