At least five people were killed and dozens injured as a result of attacks carried out by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian territories yesterday, June 28. This was reported by local Ukrainian authorities.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, two people were killed and 16 others sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of strikes on the regional center, Zaporizhzhia. The images he released show buildings on fire and destroyed residential areas.
In the Kharkiv region, which borders Russia, the city of Zmiiv came under a missile attack. According to Oleg Synegubov, head of the regional military administration, one person was killed and eight others, including two children, were injured as a result of the attack.
Also, according to the Kharkiv regional police, one of the police officers coordinating the evacuation of residents from northern areas was killed while performing his duty.
In the Sumy region, an attack was also carried out on one of the areas near the border with Russia. According to the regional administration, an elderly woman was killed as a result.
At present, no independent data has been released confirming that the attacks were deliberately directed at areas populated by civilians.
For reference, both Russia and Ukraine have consistently stated that they do not deliberately target civilians during the war.
