According to reports, two chief specialists of the Namangan Regional Construction and Housing-Communal Services Department colluded and demanded 22 thousand US dollars in exchange for positively resolving the construction permit, architectural-planning assignment, and project documents for a 2-story non-residential building located in the Yangi Namangan district, which belongs to a local entrepreneur.
They received 7 thousand US dollars in March of this year. During an urgent operation carried out by State Security Service personnel in cooperation with the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, one of the officials was caught red-handed with material evidence while receiving the remaining 15 thousand US dollars. The second chief specialist was also apprehended in accordance with procedural order.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against them, and investigative actions are being carried out.
