England's Manchester City club has officially announced the appointment of Italian specialist Enzo Maresca as the team's head coach. The club's press service reported this.
It was reported that the parties have signed a labor contract valid until the summer of 2029.
Enzo Maresca had been a free agent since leaving London's Chelsea club in January of this year.
Manchester City is not a foreign team for the Italian specialist. He worked as a member of Pep Guardiola's coaching staff in 2022–2023. Additionally, Maresca previously worked in the club's academy and youth teams.
Let us recall that on May 22, 2026, Manchester City officially announced that Pep Guardiola would leave the head coaching position after the end of the 2025–2026 season. Despite the Spanish specialist's current contract being valid until the summer of 2027, he decided to leave the club ahead of time.
