On behalf of the President of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the country – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva presented a state award to the famous chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva.
The grandmaster was awarded the Order of "Barys" of the II degree.
Speaking at the ceremony, Aida Balaeva especially emphasized Bibisara Assaubayeva's contributions to the development of chess as a sport in the country, popularization of intellectual games among young people, and strengthening Kazakhstan's reputation on the international stage.
Bibisara Assaubayeva is considered one of the most famous and award-winning chess players of Kazakhstan. She is a three-time world blitz champion, and has been included in the Guinness World Records as the youngest world champion in blitz chess in history.
Also, she recently achieved victory in the prestigious "Norway Chess" super tournament held in Norway.
