President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be in Georgia on a state visit on July 2–3 at the invitation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
High-level negotiations are planned in Tbilisi between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
During the meetings, issues of further developing the relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia will be discussed.
The parties will exchange views on strengthening political dialogue, expanding inter-parliamentary and inter-regional ties, developing trade and economic cooperation, and intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Prospects for implementing joint cooperation projects in the fields of industry, pharmaceuticals, chemical industry, agriculture, tourism, energy, and information technologies will also be considered.
The agenda of the negotiations also includes issues of expanding cooperation in the transport and logistics sector and creating additional opportunities for diversifying the geography of product exports.
Furthermore, the heads of state are expected to exchange views on pressing issues of international and regional importance.
Following the visit, it is planned to sign a substantial package of bilateral documents covering various areas of cooperation between the two countries.
