In the framework of the investigation into an explosion that occurred at the entrance of one of the residential buildings in Monaco, the possibility that the Security Service of Ukraine may be behind the attack is also being considered. This was reported by RBK.

According to the publication, investigators are putting forward the assumption that the incident may have been committed more as a warning than a premeditated murder.

The explosion occurred on the evening of June 29 at the entrance of a residential building as people were entering. According to official information, a man and a woman aged around 50–60, as well as a 13-year-old teenager who was with them, were injured as a result of the incident. The Monaco government has not officially disclosed the identities of the victims.

According to information disseminated by the media, among the injured were Ukrainian entrepreneur Vadim Ermolaev and his close ones. His wife, Anna Ermolaeva, stated that she was not at the scene at the time of the incident and therefore did not sustain injuries.

According to investigation materials, the bag containing the explosive device was left behind by a man whose identity has not yet been determined. The suspect is believed to have fled the scene and gone into hiding in the direction of Beausoleil.

Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that it is in constant contact with Monaco officials. It was noted that Ukrainian diplomats are working at the scene. Through official channels, the identities of the victims are being clarified, and their Ukrainian citizenship is being verified.

The Monaco prosecutor's office has not yet classified the incident as a terrorist act. Currently, a criminal case has been opened under the articles of attempted premeditated murder and use of an explosive device.

According to information, Vadim Ermolaev has been on the sanctions list imposed by Kyiv since December 2023. Ukrainian officials have explained this by his involvement in the alcohol business in Russia-occupied Crimea.
