It was reported that inspectors of the Navoi regional department of the Automobile Transport Control of the Transport Control Inspection, while performing their official duties, stopped a FAW brand truck for inspection at the “Samarkand” traffic police post in Karmana district.
During the inspection, signs of an offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 125¹ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan were detected in the vehicle.
Then, while the inspector was formalizing the administrative report, the driver J.B. offered the inspector a bribe in the amount of 1 million soums in exchange for not drawing up the report.
The inspector warned the driver that such actions could lead to criminal liability. However, the driver continued his illegal actions and obstructed the inspector from performing his official duties.
After that, the inspector reported the situation to the leadership of the Transport Control Inspection, the officer responsible for combating corruption, as well as to the Navoi regional Department of Internal Affairs and the Transport Prosecutor's Office.
During the operational measures, when the driver was giving 700 thousand soums of the offered 1 million soums as a bribe to the inspector, he was caught red-handed with material evidence by operational officers of the prosecutor's office and internal affairs bodies, in the presence of witnesses.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and preliminary investigation actions are being carried out.
