The state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Georgia has concluded. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze saw off the head of our state at the Shota Rustaveli International Airport in Tbilisi.
Within the framework of the state visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held negotiations with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The meetings discussed issues of further strengthening the friendly and multifaceted cooperation relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia, as well as expanding cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-transit, tourism, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Following the results of the negotiations, a declaration on establishing strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia was signed. Additionally, a number of bilateral documents aimed at further developing cooperation in priority areas were exchanged.
Within the framework of the visit, at the Orbeliani Palace in Tbilisi, the highest state award of Georgia — the Order of the Golden Fleece — was solemnly presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Furthermore, the head of our state participated in the opening ceremony of a monument to the great Uzbek poet and thinker Alisher Navoi in the city of Tbilisi.
After the conclusion of the state visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for the city of Tashkent.
