The Chinese government plans to officially recognize 12 new professions, taking into account emerging trends in the country's labor market. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.
It is reported that the list of new professions was formed based on needs arising from the rapid digitalization of the economy, the development of artificial intelligence technologies, and the formation of new industrial sectors.
In particular, the list includes engineering technicians for Digital Twins, technical specialists working with robots featuring integrated artificial intelligence, and sports data analysts.
Additionally, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China has proposed adding a number of new specializations to the existing composition of professions.
Among them are logisticians in the low-altitude economy sector, developers of artificial intelligence agents, inspectors of electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as designers for adapting living environments for the elderly.
According to the publication, this initiative is aimed at adapting the labor market to modern demands amid structural changes occurring in the Chinese economy, the widespread implementation of digital technologies, and the growth of the service sector.
It is noted that since 2019, seven lists of new professions have been approved in China, and the number of officially recognized modern professions has reached 110.
National standards will be developed for the new professions. They will serve as the main regulatory document in the system of vocational education, professional development, and specialist assessment.
