In Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, USA, three people died and seven were rescued after a boat capsized during a severe storm, according to the Associated Press.
The Associated Press reported that the incident occurred during a powerful storm that passed through the area of southern Wisconsin. According to Walworth County Sheriff's Deputy Tom Hausner, the storm toppled trees and caused serious damage to power lines and buildings.
As a result, numerous injuries were reported across the area, and rescue services received hundreds of calls about residents trapped in homes and damage. However, fallen trees and downed power lines on roads complicated rescue efforts.
The mayor of Lake Geneva, Todd Krause, declared a state of emergency. He reported that power was cut off in some areas and that one person sustained minor injuries.
The identities of the deceased and those rescued have not yet been disclosed.
