Starting from July 1, a procedure for accepting payments through the unified UzQR payment system in the trade and services sector came into effect in Uzbekistan. Following misunderstandings about this, the Tax Committee gave an official explanation.
According to the Committee, in accordance with the legislation, all trade and service entities must create the opportunity for customers to pay via a single QR code. However, this does not mean abandoning other payment methods.
This requirement does not mean that payments must only be accepted through a single QR code. The single QR code should simply be available as one of the additional payment methods for the customer.
Entrepreneurs may continue to use QR codes from payment organizations included in the state register, bank cards, cash, and other types of payments provided for by law.
Additionally, the Tax Committee emphasized that tax authorities will not interfere in this process. If there are cases where tax officers attempt to remove QR codes of other payment organizations, citizens can contact the hotline at 71 244-98-98.
