More than 20 new educational directions and specialties have been introduced in higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation reported this.
It was noted that by order of the minister, relevant changes and additions were made to the classifier of higher education directions and specialties, and the document was registered with the Ministry of Justice.
According to the new procedure, at the bachelor's level, modern directions such as ecology and environment, green economy, climate change, renewable energy, water resources management, mobile robotics, drones, sustainable agriculture, ecotourism, and railway engineering have been opened.
Also, at the master's level, personnel will be trained in such areas as international energy policy, international water diplomacy, circular economy, sustainable finance, development economics, environmental law, international trade law, urban planning, sustainable tourism, and others.
In addition, some changes were made to the classifier: position 760 was renamed "Educational and psychological support of service activities", position 766 was approved as "State and military management", and position 799 was removed from the list.
According to experts, the main goal of these changes is to adapt higher education to the requirements of the modern labor market and to train competitive personnel.
