Scammers who promised to send abroad for work and study have been caught.

Persons who promised to send to Korea and Canada for work and received a total of 4,945 dollars have been identified.

The Department under the Prosecutor General's Office has exposed several cases of fraud where individuals embezzled citizens' money by promising to send them to Korea or Canada for work or study .

A pre-investigation check conducted in Tashkent region revealed that M.A., previously convicted, promised to send two citizens to Korea for work and took 12,000 dollars from them.

In the city of Quvasoy, D.R. promised to enroll one citizen in a higher education institution in Korea and arrange a visa, fraudulently obtaining 11,000 dollars. Of this amount, 200 dollars were returned through procedural means.

In Pakhtaobod district, previously convicted Kh.M. promised to prepare documents for sending two citizens to Canada and Korea, and was found to have taken a total of 4,945 dollars.

Criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code regarding these incidents. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.

In recent months, an increase in fraud cases related to sending people to Korea for work or study has been observed. Earlier, law enforcement agencies had exposed a large-scale corruption scheme involving former employees of the External Labor Migration Agency and private employment agencies.

Additionally, in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, and Fergana regions, individuals who took money by promising to send citizens to Korea have been apprehended. It has been reported that in various cases, dozens of Uzbek citizens have fallen victim to fraudsters.
