President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today, on July 6, received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman al-Safadi.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ayman al-Safadi conveyed to the head of state the sincere greetings and best wishes of King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of Jordan.
During the conversation, priority directions for further expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Jordan were discussed. It was noted that the high-level negotiations held last year in Samarkand marked a new stage in the relations between the two countries.
It was also noted that within the framework of the achieved agreements, parliamentary friendship groups were established this year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission was held, the activities of the Business Council were launched, and air traffic between the two countries was opened.
The parties paid special attention to issues of further intensifying political dialogues, expanding trade-economic and investment cooperation, as well as implementing joint projects in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
