A woman suspected of involvement in an explosion organized against a Ukrainian businessman in Monaco has been found dead near Kyiv with a gunshot wound to the head. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
According to reports, the matter concerns a 39-year-old Ukrainian citizen, Anastasia Berezovskaya. She was placed on an international wanted list by Interpol last week on suspicion of involvement in an explosion in Monaco targeting a businessman born in Ukraine, who is currently a citizen of Cyprus.
According to the Ukrainian prosecutor's office, two other individuals have been detained in connection with this case. One of them is an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the other is a former law enforcement officer.
According to the investigation's version, Berezovskaya received funds from these individuals via cryptocurrency. Therefore, they are suspected of involvement in the assassination attempt in Monaco. At present, the prosecutor's office has stated that the intelligence officer carried out these actions independently, without notifying his superiors.
During the investigation, a room with traces of blood, as well as a hammer and other items, were reportedly found at properties belonging to the suspects. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.
Let us recall that as a result of the explosion in Monaco, businessman Vadim Yermolaev, who was born in Ukraine, his wife, and their child were injured. The adults sustained serious injuries, while the child escaped with minor injuries.
According to the investigation, the suspect woman, dressed in men's clothing, installed an explosive device at the entrance of a residential building and fled after the incident to Germany via France.
